Take Grand Care of Your OAK Floor

We want you to love your GrandOAK floors and keep them in fine form for years and years to come.

GrandOAK is synonymous with Stylish, Sustainable, Sophisticated and simply beautiful floors – and taking good care of your new European Oak Flooring is a must, to preserve both its magnificent finish and its quality presence.  Your new timeless timber floor will add a touch of elegance and warmth.  As with all things of beauty, though, it will need attention to keep it looking at its best, and help you get the most out of your Lifetime Structural Warranty, your 20 Year Wear Warranty, and/or your 10 Year Commercial Wear Warranty.

Harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners (including creams, sponges and scratchy cloths), steam mops, and other hard-surface contact cleaning equipment will damage your flooring.  Likewise, furniture legs, high heeled shoes, and long animal claws can result in ruining the surface and leave deep scratches and grooves.

By following a few simple care and maintenance guidelines, your floor will stay simply beautiful.  Therefore, we recommend that you:

  • Sweep and vacuum your GrandOAK floor as often as possible – to remove any loose grit or dirt
  • Use protective mats at all exterior entrances
  • Use felt protectors under all furniture, and quality chair mats under chairs with castors
  • Never slide or roll furniture or appliances across your floor
  • Remove high-heeled or spiked shoes
  • Avoid using excessive amounts of water.  If you use a mop, wring it out well.  If you spill liquids, wipe them up with a soft cloth as soon as possible.
  • NEVER USE STEAM MOPS OR WET MOPPING.
  • Don’t use soap, wax, oil or other household products to clean your floor.  Only use reputable floor cleaners, specific for your type of floor, and
  • Keep your pet animals’ nails trimmed.
